Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Job description:
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for assisting the QA Team Leader with coordinating, implementing, and executing the product testing efforts.
Job Responsibilities:
The quality assurance engineer will:
- follow a systematic approach to the evaluation of product quality
- design tests and analyze testing results to determine product correctness and identify errors and shortcomings
- design, develop, and maintain automated testing scripts
- develop automated scripts to determine product correctness
- help establish plans, standards, and procedures
- help establish and enforce product General Availability criteria
- define infrastructure for test automation and maintain the technical test environment
- uncover, track, and communicate non-compliance and quality assurance issues and corrective action activities
- establish and collect quality metrics to baseline, gauge, and support on-going development initiatives
Qualifications:
- MUST be obsessed with delivering high quality products that exceed customer expectations
- MUST be a self-starter, able to work in a fast paced team environment, and demonstrate organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
- MUST have experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environment
- MUST have experience working on intellectually exciting projects with strong engineering challenges
- MUST have experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries
- Scripting experience in at least one of: Perl, TCL/Expect, Selenium, AutoIT, or similar
- Ability to multi-task and manage several complex issues simultaneously
- Proven ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Extremely process-oriented, meticulous and willing to work hard to help the company succeed (this is not a "9-to-5 job")
- Experience with both manual and automated testing; experience in two or more automation languages is a plus
- Linux shell scripting experience
- High level of experience in developing and maintaining test plans and test cases
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or related technical field
Considered plus for experience with one or more of the following areas:
- Databases - Stored Procedures, and Database/Backend testing
- Web services
- Image processing
- Pattern recognition and neural networks
- Java based user-interface testing
- Programming experience
- Human factors in user-interface
